It turns out that the world of film, television, comics and all other areas of popular culture is just too big for 5 people. To that end, we have decided once again to expand our number. It is with great pleasure that I introduce Richard Richie Rich Cowey. Like the rest of us, Rich once lived the life of a cinema usher. So without further ado, let’s get to know our new recruit.
Let’s start with the obvious one. What is your favourite film and why?
Favourite film would be Blade Runner (Ridley Scott, 1982), not only was it revolutionary at the time it was released but required multiple viewings to get the most from it. It seems everyone has a different theory about the ending. Superb.
And the worst?
Until recently I would find this a hard choice but now I can safely say The Runner (Austin Stark, 2015) starring Nicolas Cage is the worst film I’ve seen.
Is there are specific type of film that you would call your favourite?
I’m a huge fan of Sci-Fi and Horror.
What is your favourite film of 2016 so far?
It’s a close fight for top spot but I’d have to give it to Green Room (Jeremy Saulnier, 2016)
What are you most looking forward in what remains of 2016?
Really hoping Doctor Strange will add a new spin to the MCU
Who is your film hero?
Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken in John Carpenter’s Escape films. He plays by his own rules and is the true definition of bad-ass.
If you could make anything into a film, be it a book, game, comic, what would it be?
A book called Master of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture, by David Kushner. It’s all about how the Doom games were made and the troubles the company faced over its many years in business. I would also love to see a Call of Cthulu film.
What would you say your specialist subject is?
As I said I’m really into Sci-Fi and Horror but I also really love games whether it’s board games or video games. I’m into them.
Well, there you have it, welcome to the team Rich Cowey, we eagerly await your first contribution.
Thanks for reading. Hope you folks enjoyed yourselves, catch ya later on down the trail.
